Mareike Schomerus, Ph.D.

Mareike Schomerus' research examines the unseen factors that influence behaviour in situations of violent conflict, for example information, narratives, the impact of living in militarised situations, or how actors understand concepts such as fairness, justice or peace. She seeks to understand what it means for ordinary people to feel secure or that they are living in a just society. She further has a particular interest in how knowledge and evidence are created, shared and shaped, including through the use of media.

She is a research fellow at the Overseas Development Institute (odi).
